Timpanogos Cave

Shelley's family decided to go to timpanogos Cave for fun. Her family had not been there since they were all really little so it was fun seeing what we remembered from before. Tim had to work so unfortunately he could not go.

To get to the cave you have to walk a mile and a half up there. Our legs were pretty tired by the end. They give you a tour time and then they tell you what time you should start hiking to make sure your there in time. When we got the the top we realized we were about 30 minutes early for the tour. We all thought we'd have to sit around til it started but Shelley's parents were kinda chatting with the tour workers and mentioned how long we had to wait and volunteered us to go in early if there were any available. Right when they said that the guy told us to come right then in his tour. We were pretty excited to not have to wait. Once we got in the cave we all introduced where we were from. The tour guide ended up being the cousin of some very good friends in Shelley's parents ward so that was kind of cool.

The cave was really cool and it was fun learning about all the formations and how long it takes for them to form. It was 45 degrees in there so i got a little chilly. The guide said it stays this temperature all year round since that is the average temperature outside. On part of the tour he turned out the lights to show us how pitch dark it gets. He told us if you stay in the pitch dark like that for a few days, then just seeing any little bit of light after would make you go blind instantly. Pretty crazy!
