What are the Chances!!??

Last night we went to go to Joshua's new dorm because Tim had never seen it. We also had gotten him some school supplies and a towel that he would be needing. It was already 11:40 p.m. and Shelley wanted to drive but Tim said, "It is not very far. We can walk." So we walked. It was a lovely evening and it was a perfect temperature. The stars were shining and we enjoyed it. We got to Joshua's dorm to find him in the lobby surrounded by girls (and one guy). We all went up to Joshua's hall where Shelley was kicked out by the R.A. so she had to wait in the lobby. Afterwards we decided to cut through the grass and some of the sprinklers were on and we were having a good time dodging them. They were single stream sprinklers that spun 360 degrees. While we were in the middle of the field we heard other sprinklers coming on so Shelley ran straight for the road and escaped drop free. Tim on the other hand was not so lucky. One possessed sprinkler popped up right behind him. Out of the 360 degrees it could have gone, it sprayed right at Tim and hit him square in the butt between the cheeks!
We had a good laugh about it, but then Tim had to walk home with a wet seat.

Keetons are here!

On Tuesday night Timothy's parents and brother josh came up here to Provo. Josh is now a college boy! We are both really excited to have him here. Tim and Josh scheduled one class together which is volleyball so that will be really fun for them. We just dropped Josh off at his dorm today. He is only staying there for the summer term and then he gets to come live at the house with us.

So far since Tim's family has been here we have been pretty busy. Shelley has worked each day and Timothy has been studying a lot for his finals so we have not had a lot of chances to do much with them. Tim did really well on his finals! He has been studying lots this semester and i am really proud of him! Thursday was Tim's last final so now he can finally have a little break before starting again on Monday.

Since we have been busy we have really only been able to have dinners together. Tim cooked us all hamburgers on his new grill again. He's a wonderful cook! We're really excited to have them all here since we have not seen them since the end of April when we took our trip down to Catalina Island. We've had a lot of fun with them here this week.

Daddy Day!

We had a very busy fathers day. First we went to church at 11 a.m. Shelley teaches the valient 12 in primary which is a lot of fun. All but two of the kids are 12 so she teaches everyone for 20 minutes before the 12 year olds leave for young mens and young womens then she is left with only 2 kids the rest of the time. So all they usually do is play games. Tim is the Elder's quorom secretary and takes roll and keeps track of the home teaching. Everybody but Tim in the presidency will be moving away this summer so we are hoping that if tim gets released he will get called to help Shelley teach in the primary.

When we got home we started to prepare for Shelley's family to come to celebrate. We told them they could park in the front driveway when they got here, but when we looked at the driveway, it was covered by a branch that had fallen from the neighbor's tree. So Tim got out the bow saw and was getting ready to hack away when the other neighbors saw and offered a chainsaw. It was gladly received because it was a very thick tree branch. After that was all hacked up, Tim drug the branch into the neighbor's yard and left it for them to deal with it.

After that, Shelley's family came and the festivities were under way. Tim bought himself a grill a couple weeks back and loves cooking on it. This was the first time for him to really show it off. Tim cooked tri-tip and teriyaki chicken for everybody. Tim was very nervous because he had never cooked for his in-laws before and did not know if they would like it. Luckily, they did and it turned out to be a delicious meal. Shelley's family went on a cruise last week so they brought us each a shirt and shelley a bracelet. It was very nice of them since we were unable to go with them.

After dinner, we all sat down to enjoy the Laker game. Clint (Shelley's sister's husband) and Tim are the only Lakers fans while everyone else likes the Jazz. Needless to say, Tim makes the rules in the house and threatened anybody that spoke ill of the Lakers a quick trip outside and they were no longer welcome to watch. Shelley then remembered she had a Celtic's jersey she had from a high school dance so she took Michael (Shelley's brother) downstairs to put it on. Everyone had a good laugh till Tim banished him outside. Not really, but Tim did tell him to take it off and burn it. Shelley's father also opened presents. He got sun glasses, and a few shirts too. It was a lot of fun and everybody had a good time.

Catalina Island!

Tim's parents live out on Catalina Island, which is a pretty fun place to get away to for a week. It was a very relaxing vacation without work or school. We were able to hang out with everybody and it was a lot of fun. Tim's sister Becky was able to ditch her family for the week and come down from Missouri as well. It was good to see her cause we had not seen her since the wedding. Kenny, Marlyse and Hadley were also there with us.
This is us on the beach at night. We had gone down to see the bioluminesences (spelling ???) which are tiny little plankton that glow when you move the water around. The glow in the back is the mainland.
This is Tim with his parents and Hadley at Joshua's (Tim's little bro) volleyball game. They won easily.
This is us at Cat Harbor. It is the other harbor of the Isthmus.

Shelley loves to hold Hadley. They were watching Tim play tennis.
Becky and Hadley. By Hadley's face, Becky must have had post tennis smell. Just kidding Becky! We love you!

Catching up!

We thought we would start by catching up on things. We started dating in November of 2006. For the first date Tim took Shelley to play miniature golf, but the course was closed so we went bowling instead. The second date Tim took Shelley to one of his flag football games. It was then Shelley realized how manly and studly Tim is. The rest is history. On April 14, 2007 Tim got on one knee and asked Shelley to be his wife. It was a romantic evening. Tim took Shelley up on the side of a mountain where he had previously found a flat cement block on which he set up a table and chairs and prepared Shelley's favorite meal of Tim's very own, homemade fettuccini alfredo. It was just before sunset that Tim popped the question.

We were later married after 4 months of being engaged on August 18th. For our honeymoon, we went to Disneyland and had a great time. It was Tim's very first time ever going to the Disneyland California Adventure, which is sad since he grew up in CA.

We now live in the basement of the same house as Kenny and Marlyse. We enjoy their company very much, except when they leave for internships. They and their daughter, Hadley are a lot of fun to hang out with and we are thankful for them and look forward to their return.

Shelley is working as a billing clerk and Tim is a full time student at BYU and is working as a front desk attendant for a local hotel. We enjoy the student life and especially love going to the BYU football games. We are really looking forward to this upcoming season and hope to see the cougars win yet another conference championship!
